I installed the Netcraft tool bar earlier this week. I was having some issues with spamming on this site so I was using the tool bar to find out where these IPs and websites where hosted. And I was checking other blogs for new posts and I was shocked at the Risk Ratings Netcraft have given to sites on my blog roll. So I have decided to get a list together of the sites on my blog roll and their risk rating. Irish Developer has a risk rating of 0. Which is the best.

New moblie, can’t decide!

I have decided to get a new mobile phone this week. I have a Nokia N70 and anyone who has or had an N70 will know all about the problems with it. If I’m not getting phone calls, it is restarting its self. Now I have always been a big fan of Nokia, most of all the Nokia N-Series. But before my N70 I was on a V3 Razr kick, but that is over!

Joost Beta

Thanks to Cormac I got a beta invite for Joost. And I downloaded it to find out it wont run on my laptop. My laptop, a Dell Inspiron 600m with 1 Gb ram and a Intel Centrino processor. Is under minimum spec for the software.

NATD Annual European Meeting, Dublin

The NATD (North American Association of Telecommunication Dealers) & IATD (International Association of Telecommunication Dealers) will be hosting there annual European Meeting this year in Dublin, Ireland. The event will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of June 2007 in the Raddisson SAS - St Helens Hotel on Dublin’s South Side. After attending Eoin O’Dell’s talk yesterday Law of Blogs at BarCamp Dublin, I thought I would add him to my blogroll. It was a very interesting talk and he cleared up a lot of miss understandings of blogging as far as laws go. Eoin’s blog is well worth a look.

Vonage close to bankruptcy?

Vonage the US and UK based VoIP provider has been stuck in legal battles with the US telecommunication giant Verizon Communications for a while now. And on March 8, a Virginia court ordered Vonage to pay $58million in damages to Verizon for infringing on 3 of Verizon’s VoIP patents. Now if paying $58million in damages isn’t enough, Verizon asked the courts an for injunction on Vonage’s service.

Google Developers Day, May 31 2007

Google has announced they are holding Google Developers Day 2007 in 10 locations around the world. It will be one of the handful of events per year where you will be able to speak to Google face to face. For us European developers it is a great opportunity as a lot of the Google events are held in Mountain View.

Skype Prime

Skype has released a new service. Premium calls, now you can set a price per minute or per call and when people call you can request they pay. Skype’s modest fee for this service is 30%. Below are screen shots. One of my Skype accounts had 1.30 euro in it and was about to expire, so I decided to test the system to see how it works.

I was going through Google Webmaster Tools and looking at, Google Site Maps and I seen that Irish Developer was ranking for irish eye check up with an average position of 11.
