Google Developers Day, May 31 2007

Google has announced they are holding Google Developers Day 2007 in 10 locations around the world. It will be one of the handful of events per year where you will be able to speak to Google face to face. For us European developers it is a great opportunity as a lot of the Google events are held in Mountain View.

GMail hacked

I believe my Google Account was just hacked tonight. My Thunderbird was prompting me for my password saying it was invalid. So I tried to log into my Google Account, and after 5 tries the password went through and I was into my account. But when I went to change my password the following email address was in my secondary email address field angelic_luv_u@yahoo.co.uk and my display name in Google Talk was callonsmallpastor. Now I am lucky I got in, because if I had of sent a reminder email I would have been fucked!

Google Earth

If you ever do a search for Google Earth on Google you will see about 124,000,000 results. And out of that there is only 1 Adwords advert. For a site called http://earth.free.googlepages.com/. Now they claim that downloading from them is better because you get added benafits. And all you have to do is click this link on the top of the page.

While reading Not Another One!!, The online ramblings of Niall Donegan I had a quick look at Nialls latest post Useful Firefox Extensions and I am a big fan of Firefox. Mainly down to the ability to add extentions. And Niall was listing off his favorite extentions. And one called User Agent Switcher. And what he said caught my eye…

Google Desktop XML back door!

Did you know that Google Desktop contains a back door? Would you believe me if I said it was XML? Well next time you do a search on Google Desktop, add the following to the end of the results URL “&format=xml” and you will see your results in XML format.

How come I am on a Skype In call, but cant check email?

I was having problems with my desktop after I fitted a Linksys Dual-Band Wireless A+G PCI Adapter to it. I thought it was my Linksys Wireless G Router and started messing around with the settings. And after 3 hours I seen it wasnt the router. My laptop was able to connect through the wireless and I had it beside my desktop so it wasnt a signal problem.
