Tonight I can’t sleep so I decided to browse the internet and see what is out there. Find cool sites using the latest technology, design techniques and grabbing web 2.0 by the balls and creating it into a work of art. But to my dispear all I have found is websites only fit to be deleted from my browser history.

Irish host being mean

I was on the WikiScanner (a tool that tracks changes to the Wikipedia) the other night and came across the following page http://wikiscanner.virgil.gr/f.php?ip1=83.98.166.31and the user on that IP made the following change

This woman is the most sarcastic person i have ever had to help across the phone. I wish i had recorded it to play back to you all.

It was a comment made about Nell McCafferty. And with a quick search of the Ip address, you will find that the IP range is assigned to Michele Neylon, Blacknight Dedicated Hosting Network. You would think a web host would have better sense and use a proxy to make comments like that.

ASP SEO friendly URLs

One of the down sides to ASP is not being able to make SEO friendly URLs with out the need for server components. PHP can do with use of the .htaccess file. When ASP was first thought up by Microsoft the need for SEO friendly URLs wasn’t high on the list of needs. SEO wasn’t what it is today, a key to making a site successful. With the introduction of the .NET platform saw the end of development on the ASP platform. Which left web developers in a tight spot, either they install a server component (example: custom or pre built ISAPI filters) or they had to find creative ways to get around this issue.

Learning SEO

Now I don’t pretend to know anything about SEO but lately I have been reading up more and more about it. Several blogs I read about SEO and Online Marketing include Ireland SEO Marketing and Red Cardinal. But tonight I bought an online book called The SEO Book. Now I bet your thinking, this is just another online SEO book. But this one I find is unlike the rest. It comes with a lot of extras.

Mainly down to the ability to add extentions. And Niall was listing off his favorite extentions. And one called User Agent Switcher. And what he said caught my eye…
