While logged in MySpace.com I was looking at the hits that my profile got. And with so many people around the world using MySpace.com, 104,540,148 on the Your Network counter, I wanted to know where I was getting hits from. MySpace doesn’t allow JavaScript, so I set about finding a new way of finding where in the world these hits are coming from without using JavaScript. Would you believe GIFs is how I did it!

While out having a smoke last week with a coworker, we got onto the subject of the future of web design, web development and SEO? The way it currently stands, the Internet is in a great state of growth. You have more and more people connecting to the net. It isn’t uncommon to have more friends online then in reality. We have seen some achievements associated with the Internet. We have seen small websites turn into household names over night. When I started in web design, I was 16 and it was in the aftermath of the Dot Com boom. Back in the Dot Com Boom, all you had to do was walk into a company and say “I’m setting up a website, I need funding!”. And they would fall over themselves to throw money at you. Not anymore.

I hate when you are on a site and you change a drop down or click a button and it refreshes the page just to change a line of text or an image. Several months ago I was faced with a problem. How do I change dynamic information with out refreshing the page? The burning question on a lot of design and developers minds. For years there was no way. There is so many programming languages that all can dynamically change information and so many of these have scripting language versions for the world wide web.
