Google has announced they are holding Google Developers Day 2007 in 10 locations around the world. It will be one of the handful of events per year where you will be able to speak to Google face to face. For us European developers it is a great opportunity as a lot of the Google events are held in Mountain View.
The day itself will vary in format from location to location, but the goal is the same: bring Google’s developer community closer together, share our knowledge, and of course have fun in the process.
said Andrew Bowers, of Google’s Developers Programs.
The locations around the world, include Mountain View, Sao Paulo, London, Paris, Madrid, Hamburg, Moscow, Tokyo, Sydney and Beijing. But what has me annoyed is Dublin isn’t one of the locations. Dublin, is the European Headquarters for Google. So does that mean that the Irish developers community isn’t as important?

Its typical really… They always leave us out. I’d say Google have their headquarters over here because of the lower tax for european companies - no other reason imo, its always just to save money.

Yea, its a load of bollox. There is loads of meet ups in Europe and the one country you would think one would be held is left out. I’m on a waiting list to get an invite.
