I’m the Google Bot… no really!

A couple of months ago I posted about becoming the Google Bot, and I wanted update people to the fact that many websites are catching on to this.

And how websites can find out if you really are is by checking your IP address. But there is a way around this. Google has a little browser tool called the Google Web Accelerator. The Google Web Accelerator sets your browsers to go through a Google Proxy. So using the User Agent Switcher for Firefox and the Google Web Accelerator you can surf the internet as the Google Bot on a Google IP. With your location coming up as Google Inc., Mountain View, Ca. Enjoy

That could be it, you should try it when you get home. I know it works as I use it a lot when I dont want my where-abouts on the net know.

It shouldn’t “selectively” choose to route it through a proxy if your in work.
