Run “whois -i origin AS39122″. That show IPs ranges assigned to Blacknight. That’s currently over 12000 IPv4 and 400million IPv6 ip addresses. I’m down as an admin there (ND1063-RIPE), Does that mean I’m responsible for every comment left from any address there?
The IP range you refer to hasn’t been used by Blacknight in over 2 years, and even when it was in use, it was assigned to servers in Amsterdam. This means that if it was used to post to wikipedia, it was used as a proxy
Possibly a server that was left running and used after Blacknight pulled out of that Data Centre.

I understand what your saying, but if you look at the comment that was left. It was about an Irish person, and refers to helping someone over the phone. That IP range is still assigned to Blacknight as seen on Ripe.net. You wouldnt be responsible, Blacknight Limited would since the IP range was assigned to them. And the IP address was assigned on a server operated by Blacknight. And since Michele is the owner of Blacknight then would be called to answer if anything was to ever come of the statement.

From the whois info that you link to:
descr: Blacknight Dedicated Hosting Network
Basically means a network dedicated to hosting servers like the one your own site is on. Should DimeHost be responsible if some one else hosting on your server installs something like php-proxy and posts to Wikipedia.
Believe it or not, Blacknight has a lot of Irish custoemrs
The fact that it was about an Irish person doesn’t mean a thing.

Funny enough that has happened on this site when I moved it to an Irish host, it had PHProxy set up on and it was used to host videos. Nothing to do with me. But the Irish host in question took full responsibilty.
